Ways to join in with the Festival
The Festival’s survival depends on the commitment of our generous donors, members, sponsors, administrators, adjudicators and volunteers as well as an audience to come along and support our participants.
Listen to performances
You are extremely welcome to come and listen to all the classes. Performers love to have an audience whether they are 5 year old beginners or talented post graduate students. Admission is free, but we ask for a donation to help keep the Festival going. There is a wealth of variety you can chose from. Just review the timetable of classes and come along to listen! The final concert of the Music Festival involves some of the winners of the previous classes and is always a most rewarding experience.
Volunteer
Volunteer Stewards are always needed to help with the smooth running of the Festival. So if you have a few hours to spare in the daytime or evening and would like to undertake door-keeping duties, act as an usher or provide administrative support to the Festival Secretaries please get in touch. Stewards need to be practical, patient and friendly. You can choose whatever time commitment suits you. You will witness some fine performances as well as earning our gratitude. Volunteers once enrolled can see their rota here.
Help organise
We are also looking for people who would like to become actively involved in organising or supporting the Festival. If you are interested in any of the subjects we cover, do think of giving us a hand. For example you may have special expertise such as photography, catering or IT skills. You will find it enormously rewarding to work in supporting the enthusiasm and talent as the entrants display.
Become a member
The Members of the North London Festival participate in the Festival’s most important decisions and perform a crucial role in holding the Executive to account. The Festival is actively seeking new Members either to attend the AGM once a year and vote, or to contribute ideas, contacts, and active support. A modest annual subscription is payable.
Sponsor
Consider whether you can support the Festival by donating prizes or money as rewards and inspiration to those players, singers and speakers who deserve recognition. The Festival Executive Committee is grateful to all the current sponsors of classes and prizes that are given to promising participants.
